Philanthropy
We at Psi Chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma highly support a variety of charitable organizations as a part of our community service principle. As a national organization, we are proud to dedicate our philanthropic efforts to our national causes — the Trio Program and Breast Cancer Awareness.

Breast Cancer Awareness
Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc. is proud to actively support the cause of Breast Cancer Awareness. Our commitment goes beyond symbolic recognition. Our siblings engage in meaningful efforts to promote awareness on the topic through fundraising campaigns, educational workshops, and active participation in run/walk events that foster solidarity and visibility for survivors and their families. By participating in these initiatives, we not only raise critical funds for research and support services, but also help promote open dialogue about health and wellness in our communities. We encourage each of our entities to partner with local organizations dedicated to advancing Breast Cancer Awareness. We also recommend that individuals and groups take time to carefully research the organizations they support to ensure contributions for this cause are used ethically and effectively.
Sigma Lambda Gamma supports the TRIO programs for its innovative and proactive stance on the supporting the education of individuals who otherwise would not have had the resources to do so due to financial or personal barriers. These programs have become stepping stones for many students within our organization and other affiliates who have benefited to identify and continue secondary education.
Our country has asserted a commitment to providing educational opportunity for all Americans regardless of race, ethnic background or economic circumstance. In support of this commitment, the U.S. House of Representatives established a series of programs to help low-income Americans enter college, graduate and move on to become hardworking citizens in America’s economy. These programs are funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and are referred to as the TRIO Programs. While financial aid programs help students overcome financial barriers to higher education, TRIO programs help students overcome class, social and cultural barriers to higher education.
